The plant will be fuelled by natural gas from Haltenbanken, off the coast of mid-Norway. To transport the gas, a 160 km long gas pipeline will be laid from Tjeldbergodden, where gas from Haltenbanken comes ashore. The construction of the gas pipeline is expected to lead to the establishment of a more comprehensive infrastructure for natural gas distribution in mid-Norway, including the delivery of natural gas for industrial use and to the city of Trondheim.
